Install Lexpert Framework

The Claude Desktop extension is the fastest way to get the Lexpert Framework running. Download the .dxt below and drag it into Claude Desktop's Extensions settings.

Install steps

1. Open Claude Desktop
2. Go to Settings → Extensions
3. Drag lexpert-framework.dxt into the window
4. On first launch, your default browser will open for sign-in via Clerk
5. Set Custom Instructions (below) so Claude knows to use the Lexpert tools

Set Custom Instructions

In Claude Desktop, click your profile (bottom-left) → Settings → find Custom Instructions (sometimes under Profile or Personalization), and paste:

You have access to Lexpert MCP. For any legal work, use the
appropriate Lexpert tool. Use lexpert_menu to see available tools.

Three lines. The Lexpert Algorithm (the visible 7-phase reasoning loop), citation checks, formatting, and tool behavior are built into the server — they run automatically when you use a Lexpert tool. The Custom Instructions just tell Claude to prefer Lexpert tools and where to find help.

Requirements

• Claude Desktop 0.10.0 or later
• macOS, Windows, or Linux (Node 18+ runtime is provided by Claude Desktop)
• Active Lexpert subscription

Trouble installing?

If the extension fails to load, sign-in stalls, or the browser doesn't open, reach support with the Claude Desktop version and any error message.
